U.S. Chamber members told the president on April 7 that they will be able to buy more equipment and invest in more technology thanks to the Chamber-backed Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. Chamber small and mid-sized business members from the Boston, Minneapolis, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. areas met with President Bush at the White House, and provided him with specific anecdotes of how the plan will stimulate their businesses.
Following the meeting, Chamber member Darlene Miller, president and CEO of Permac Industries of Burnsville, MN, appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” to discuss the meeting, saying that the economic stimulus package would help not only her company, but other small businesses as well. “The president is really interested in small business and this stimulus package is something of importance to him and all of us,” she said.
In addition, Ryan Robinson, president and co-Owner of Signal Metal Industries, Inc. of Irving, TX; Raymond Pinard, president and CEO of 48HourPrint.com in Boston, MA; and Thomas Sawner, CEO of Educational Options, Inc. of Arlington, VA, submitted their stories on their meeting with the president on the Chamber blog, ChamberPost.com.
