Chamber Launches Transportation and Trade Campaign

The U.S. Chamber kicked off a multimillion dollar nationwide grassroots and advocacy campaign to build support for additional investment in America's transportation infrastructure and to highlight the link between a robust infrastructure and increased trading opportunities.

"We have to wake up to our growing infrastructure challenges," said Chamber President and CEO Tom Donohue at the campaign launch in Lansing, Michigan, on March 20.  "We cannot grow our economy, create more jobs, and export our products to the rest of the world if our airports and ports are congested and our roads and bridges are crumbling."

The campaign combines the Chamber's multimillion-dollar Let's Rebuild America infrastructure investment initiative with the organization's TradeRoots program, which helps educate small and medium-size businesses on the benefits of trade. Events are scheduled for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; New Haven, Connecticut; Charlotte, North Carolina; Las Vegas, Nevada; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Orlando, Florida.
