Supreme Court Begins Hearing Employer Discrimination Case

The Supreme Court this week heard oral arguments in an employee lawsuit case that would greatly expand the scope of existing discrimination laws. The case is being challenged by the Chamber’s National Chamber Litigation Center, which filed an amicus brief in support of the employer.

On February 20, the court began to examine whether employees can claim to suffer retaliation for reporting race discrimination and file a lawsuit without regard to the limitations period or mandatory conciliation procedures required by existing law.

The case is CBOS West v. Humphries. Read the Amicus brief.
